What is the MMRL?

The Masonic Medical Research Laboratory (MMRL) is a not-for-profit, state-of-the-art medical research facility. It was founded in 1958 under the leadership of Grand Master Raymond C. Ellis of the Grand Lodge of New York. It is supported by Freemasons, volunteer contributions, corporation & Federal grants. The MMRL supports scientific research in such areas as ischemic heart disease, cardiac arrhythmias, sudden cardiac arrest, and all other aspects of cardiovascular disease.

 

MMRL Mission Statement

The MMRL is dedicated to improving the health and quality of life for all humankind. The Laboratory's primary mission is to conduct high quality basic medical research aimed at generating knowledge and information necessary for development of the medical cures and treatments of tomorrow. The Laboratory is also committed to providing education and training to basic scientists and clinical researchers who would perpetuate and extend the fight against disease.

MMRL Benefit Smoker Event

On December 8th, 2011, the Masters and Wardens Association, representing the 22nd and 23rd Districts, will host the 3rd Cigar Smoker to benefit the Masonic Medical Research Laboratory. The price of admission will include a bundle of the finest cigars and dinner, and is open to anyone who would like to attend. All proceeds from this event will be contributed to the MMRL.
